Poughkeepsie & Hudson Valley General Contractor Since 1978
Precision Contractor has been building and restoring in Poughkeepsie since 1978. Owner Jon Behrends, a U.S. Army veteran, leads a crew that self-performs the fundamental trades (carpentry, framing, drywall, masonry, concrete, painting and more), so we control the schedule, the cost and the quality.
WHERE WE WORK
Our office is at 35 High Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. We work throughout Dutchess County and within about 35 miles of the City of Poughkeepsie, including Ulster, Orange and Putnam counties and nearby parts of Columbia and Westchester counties. New York only.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you do commercial or residential work?
Both. Much of our work is commercial: retail build-outs and fit-ups, offices, restaurants, warehouses, churches and apartment buildings. We also take on residential renovations, siding and window restoration.
Do you work on historic buildings?
Yes. Historic rehabilitation is a specialty. We have restored buildings along Poughkeepsie's Main Street, Academy Street and Market Street, as well as Christ Episcopal Church, St. Paul's Church and the First Congregational Church.
Do you use subcontractors?
We self-perform the fundamental trades with our own crew and bring in licensed specialists where the work requires it.
Are you lead-safe certified?
Yes. Precision Contractor is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm (NAT-57362-4), which matters for any work on buildings built before 1978.
How do estimates work?
We start with an in-person meeting to understand the scope, plan the work with our team, and send you a written proposal. Call (914) 456-6336 to set up a visit.
What are your hours?
Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays by phone, with site visits by appointment.
Are you veteran-owned?
Yes. Owner Jon Behrends is a U.S. Army veteran.
